IntraLase LASIK Gaining in Popularity

More and more LASIK cases are being performed with the IntraLase laser. While less than 40% of LASIK surgeons perform IntraLase, well over 60% of LASIK cases performed in the United States are IntraLase LASIK. This is because most higher volume LASIK surgeons prefer IntraLase and LASIK consumers are discovering the safety advantage of IntraLase over other LASIK techniques. IntraLase LASIK costs more than other LASIK procedures because two seperate sophisticated lasers are needed rather than just one laser in conventional LASIK. The US military has performed an analysis of LASIK technology and their opinion is that IntraLase LASIK is the safest and best LASIK technology. 100% of LASIK cases performed by the Department of Defense are IntraLase LASIK. Dr. Dean Dornic of the Laser Eye Center of Carolina is the first Raleigh area LASIK surgeon to perform IntraLase LASIK. His center now boasts of having North carolina's only iFS IntraLase laser.
